Do you have HughesNet? If so, you're used to seeing this:
Or maybe your system status is yellow and your "turbopage" is down.
Yes, when it's working, HughesNet is much better than dial-up. But it's not working with the regularity one would expect for $60 per month. And when you call customer service, you're put on hold for a long time before being allowed to speak with someone with limited English skills who tells you to re-boot your modem. Again. And again and again and again.
Why???

Wholly Guacamole's packaging change costs them my business
For about ten years, I've been a huge
fan of Wholly Guacamole. The quality of their product is better than
any similar product, and when my supermarket puts it on sale, it's
more affordable than making my own guacamole from avocados.
But now that they've abandoned their
sensibly-sized packages in favor of an "easy peel tray,"
I'll only be buying it when I'm going to serve guacamole to a group
of four or more. Whether alone or with my girlfriend, the tray's
size is too much.
Also, the #7 plastic they use frightens
me. I'm very conscious of the plastics that come in contact with my
food, and recognize that all plastics contain some harmful materials,
but the #7 is a mystery designation, and I'm very leery of eating
food from it.
I tried to contact the company through their website, but received this bizarre message:
"ERROR - Form Submitters IP Address is Blacklisted!!"

HughesNet - satellite internet.... sometimes
If you're thinking of ordering HughesNet satellite internet, take a look
at this photo and ask yourself if this is something you're going to
want to see often:
I receive this error a lot with HughesNet. Most of the time, it'll happen when I'm trying to access some websites but not others, and the situation usually gets resolved within a couple of hours.
This morning, I was unable to access any websites, and received the above error regardless of which site's URL I tried to access.
I will try contacting HughesNet customer service to ask about this, but after my last experience with them, I don't expect much.
Dial HughesNet's sales line, and your call will be answered immediately. Try calling their customer service, and you'll get a recording that you may have to wait for twenty or thirty minutes before you're assisted.
